Welcome to St. Matthew Preschool!

Come join the fun of learning in a Christian setting. At St. Matthew Preschool, we provide a Christ-centered atmosphere conducive to the whole child's physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual growth. Our mission is to offer families a Christ-centered preschool program. Our preschool is part of the Christian education ministry of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and an outreach ministry to community families. We want to help children and adults grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Enrolling your child at St. Matthew will provide them with a Christ-centered and play-based education, allowing them to grow physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. Our staff will provide a wide variety of developmentally appropriate activities for children to explore individual interests and differences through everyday outdoor activities, hands-on care, and various learning centers.

It’s not only important for your child to grow and learn, but to ultimately get them ready to go to Kindergarten.

St. Matthew Preschool Staff Will:

Provide Christian education in the classroom, during chapel time, on the playground, and during center time.
Provide hands-on activities in a variety of learning centers so each child learns in the best style for him/her.
Provide learning centers - writing, science, art, blocks, manipulative, etc. - for the children to explore themes throughout the year.
Provide a low student/teacher ratio of no more than 9:1.
Encourage children and their families to receive God's unconditional love through His Word and the service of our caring preschool staff.
Help pre-kindergarten children prepare for elementary school.
Maintain communication between teachers and parents through newsletters, parent meetings/conferences, and parent involvement.

Our Students

The preschool children participate in individual, small group, and large group activities. Children MUST be fully potty-trained, wear underwear, and take care of toileting needs.

Classroom routines are established by the classroom staff. Chapel time is held in the sanctuary/gym every day at 9:30 am. The children participate in individual, small-group, and large-group activities in the classroom. Children who stay till 2 pm may participate in the following activities:

Lunch from home with opportunities for language and social skill development. Lunch should be in an insulated container with an ice pack.
15-minute rest time after lunch (required by state)
Interactive play, science, cooking, creative art, and drama
